Brethren Christian School has existed for 70 years to honor and glorify God by helping boys and girls become godly men and women. We have begun a "New Day" at BC by teaching our timeless message with modern methods. This is accomplished through the words and lives of our knowledgeable and dedicated faculty. We continue to partner with parents and families to disciple each student in Christ. We help every student excel academically, socially and personally. I welcome you to join this vibrant community of believers, who are developing young people to make an impact for time and eternity. Brethren Christian is a private Christian middle school and high school located at Huntington Beach, California. It is situated on a 15-acre site leased from the Huntington Beach School District, formerly the site of Gisler Middle School. The school has about 350 junior and senior high students that live within a 25-mile radius of the school, commute from over 40 communities, and represent over 150 different churches within the Christian community. The school is independently operated and controlled by a board of directors.
Approximately 30% of Brethren Christian families come from Huntington Beach. Others come from more than 30 different Southern California communities and from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. About 25% of our students receive partial financial aid funded through donations and tuition. Students and at least one parent must be professing Christians who regularly attend church. Interestingly our school family attends more than 126 different churches. The school typically returns nine out of ten students each year and attracts nearly 100 new students primarily in the sixth, seventh or ninth grades. Currently the school is 76% Caucasian, 12% Asian, 5% Hispanic, and 3% African American. The school also features a mainstream, English-only, International student I-20 program. Christian International students must arrange their own housing with a Christian family.
