The Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District first introduced a Preschool Program to the Matawan-Aberdeen community through Title I/Chapter I funds in 1971. The program has operated successfully through the years and is currently funded by the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District. In the past, the Preschool Program had been cited as an exemplary program. In 1985, the New Jersey Department of Education selected the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District Preschool Program as one of five in the state to be considered for national recognition by a panel of expert educators in Washington, D.C. It was then cited as being one of the top ten preschools in the nation. In 1991, it was again nationally cited as an exemplary Preschool Program for maintaining the standards for which it had been originally cited. It is our mission and vision to build and maintain a Preschool Program that meets the highest of standards in order for our students to become successful.
